The sports world took a hit Tuesday when David Beckham announced his retirement from soccer, the sport that made him an international superstar.
However, the female world rejoiced with the hope that this might mean
Becks has more time to shoot those infamous underwear campaigns.
"I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the
highest level," Beckham, 38, who spent his last season playing for Paris
Saint-Germain's (PSG) club, said in a statement.
The legendary midfielder, who won championships in France with PSG,
England with Manchester United, Spain with Real Madrid, and in the U.S.
with the Los Angeles Galaxy, became one of the highest-paid people in
sports – making $50.6 million last year alone.
