BIFU LA MAREKANI NA KOREA KASKAZINI LAFIKIA PABAYA, SASA HADI WATOTO WAHUSISHWA. ANGALIA MWENYEWE HAPA.

YOUNGSTERS in North Korea take part in a mock military parade that includes miniature tanks, cars and rocket launchers.

The event, held in the country’s capital Pyongyang to mark Children’s Day, involved more than 3,000 kids who also enjoyed games, dances and dressing up.
One of the games was a relay race to build models of a North Korean rocket that launched a satellite into orbit last year.
Kindergarten pupil Ri Jin said: “I’m very happy because I got a prize for coming first.” The event took place at the Mangyongdae amusement park which was revamped last year after North Korea’ leader Kim Jong-un slammed it for its dilapidated state.

Tensions between North and South Korea were heightened a few weeks ago when tougher UN sanctions were imposed on Pyongyang after it carried out its third nuclear test.
The regime had also threatened nuclear strikes on Seoul and Washington because of US-South Korea military drills and UN sanctions.
